Oncology Research Building

This 5-story oncology research building features laboratory-grade MEP systems, biosafety requirements, and highly complex mechanical infrastructure. Coordination in research lab buildings is orders of magnitude more complex than standard commercial fume hoods, exhaust systems, clean benches, and specialty gas distribution demand exact spatial coordination.
We delivered full VDC services: Leica RTC360 laser scanning of existing adjacencies, federated model coordination across structural, MEPFP, and specialty laboratory systems, 4D simulation for phased construction in an occupied research campus, and constructability reviews focused on laboratory infrastructure access and maintenance clearances.
Zero-clash handoff model for laboratory MEP, verified as-built connections to existing building systems, 4D simulation supporting phased construction without disrupting active research. Constructability reviews prevented 12 major field coordination issues.
